Spring Term 1

Within reception we have had a fabulous start to our Spring term. We have recalled our favourite parts of our Christmas break and we shared our special family memories from Christmas.

This Spring we have begun our learning about Traditional Tales in which we have focused on the story of Cinderella. We used our memories of our magical Tatton Park trip to enhance of learning in the classroom. We have discussed the sequence of new stories and have even enjoying writing our own within the continuous provision.

Aside from our fairy-tale learning we have also enjoyed the celebrations of Chinese New Year this half term. The children were very excited to open their own Chinese restaurant in their classroom and watch as Mrs Cartlidge as she cooked us a delicious Chinese traditional meal which we enjoyed tasting a range of new foods.

Merry Christmas from us all at Ellison Primary Academy

We have had a magical time this term within class RA.

A trip to Newcastle College for the fabulous pantomime 'Snow White' followed by a trip to visit Adlington House to sing Christmas carols and songs from this year's nativity 'A Wriggly Nativity' to its residents.

This year's trip to Tatton Park for a 'Fairy-tale Wonderland' and farm visit was superb. The children were fabulous and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. On the farm we saw a variety of cows, pigs, sheep, goats, shire horses and also we got to feed some very friendly chickens! We also had a very special visitor visit whilst we were at Tatton Park- we were very excited! He said what superstars we were and that he was looking forward to visiting us all on Christmas Eve.

Within the Tatton Park Mansion we spent the afternoon exploring a magical land of fairy-tales. Each room was decorated beautifully to showcase our favourite traditional tales such as 'Snow White and the seven dwarfs', 'Aladdin', 'Little Red Riding Hood' as well as our class story for next term 'Cinderella'. The staff at Tatton Park commented on how polite and caring the children were from our school whilst on the trip.

Can we take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support within this Autumn Term.

We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Tatton Park Fairytale Wonderland visit this Christmas.

Diwali Festival- the festival of light.

'We are all unique but we all swim together at Ellison' Rainbow fish parade

Within our Rainbow fish parade we enjoyed creating these special scales in which we wrote positive and thoughtful messages to share with the rest of our school. We paraded the school, singing our 'Rainbow fish song' for Key Stage 1 and 2 to watch and enjoy.

To name a few of the lovely messages which we shared...

' We must be kind to one another'

' We should use our lovely manners around school'

' We must play kind games on the playground'

' If we hurt somebodies feeling we must say sorry'

All of the messages were from the children's own ideas.

Well done RA superstars!

Hello and welcome to RA!

Your children have started to settle really well into the Ellison family and we look forward to learning more about them throughout the year. In Reception we make the learning fun and engaging by allowing the children to influence our planning, through their own interests and ideas.

This half term we will be learning about the children through our topic, "All About Me". Please keep visiting our class page to see our pictures and see what exciting things we have been learning about.

Thank you smiley
