STEM week was lots of fun!
We all enjoyed the whole school experiment titled 'The Rocket Mouse'.
Within Year 1 we focused upon the materials we used to create our mouse and experimenting whether the material affected its flight. With a partner we created both a card mouse and a paper mouse. As a class we made a prediction before the experimentation.
The children enjoyed explaining and giving reasons for what might happen and why.
Well done Year 1!
Kindness Week
Within our class family we very much enjoyed talking about how important it is to be kind to one another, in and outside of school.
We talked about how kindness could be shown through different drawings and colour ways.
The children's ideas included two kind hands, kind hearts all around and a kindness rainbow.
We were given the challenge of creating a kindness poster for the whole school to see. When our posters were finished a group of us enjoyed sharing and talking about them within a whole school assembly.
Here are a selection of them for you to see.
We hope you enjoy them. Love 1S
Christmas Snow Globes.
For our Christmas cards this year the children chose to create a magical Christmas globe with 'real snow' inside. We thought about our design, colour, shape and created a plan of all of the things we would need.
We really enjoyed making these magical cards and we hope you enjoyed receiving them too.
Merry Christmas from 1S
Welcome to 1S!
Welcome to our Class Page.
We have very much enjoyed our learning so far within the Autumn Term.
Our class topic is titled 'Through the Decades' focusing on the History of Toys, Fashions, and significant individuals. We have enjoyed learning about the Royal Family as well drawing fashions throughout the decades.
